When I asked 4 year old Abdullah what he's gonna become when he grows up, I got an answer that made me laugh, and think.

এনার্জি কনভার্শন কোর্সের প্রথম ক্লাস আজ। থার্ড সেমিস্টারের ছাত্ররা ক্লাস শুরুর আগে বসে আড্ডা দিচ্ছে। সময়মতোই ক্লাসে ঢুকলেন ড. হাসিব হায়দার স্যার। এই স্যারের ক্লাস আগে করেনি ওরা, তবে নাম শুনেছে বড় ভাইদের কাছে। হাসিব স্যারের ক্লাস নাকি ভার্সিটি লাইফে সবচেয়ে মজার। সেই সাথে স্যার নাকে খুব ফ্রেন্ডলি আর মোটিভেশনাল। স্যারের এই কোর্সের ব্যাপারে সবারই তাই বেশ উৎসাহ।  স্যার রুমে ঢুকেই উজ্জ্বল একটা হাসি দিয়ে বললেন,  ‘কি অবস্থা সবার??’ ‘ভালো স্যার’  ‘অল্প ভালো নাকি বেশি ভালো?’ ‘বেশি ভালো স্যার’  সব ক্লাসেই টিপিকাল একটা ফাজিল থাকে, সেরকমই একটা পেছন থেকে বলে উঠলো  ‘বেশি ভালো নাই স্যার’  ‘কেন?’ ‘সেমিস্টারের প্রথম দিন, আর আপনারা ক্লাস নিতে এসে পড়লেন। একদিন না পড়াইলে কি হইতো?’ হাসির রোল উঠলো ক্লাসে। হাসিব স্যারও হেসে দিলেন তার বিশাল হাসি,  ‘আরে আজকে পড়াবো কেন, পাগল নাকি?’ ‘তাহলে আজকে কি হবে স্যার?’  মনে হয় অনেকটা মন খারাপ করেই জিজ্ঞেস করলো ফার্স্ট বেঞ্চের ভারী ফ্রেমের চশমা পড়া আঁতেল।  ‘তোমাদের সাথে প্রথম ক্লাস। তোমাদের সাথে গল্প করবো। তোমাদের পরিচয় জানবো।’...

AUSTronics goes public !

Finally ! AUSTronics goes public. For those who don't know yet, AUSTronics is an online magazine for the students and teachers of the EEE department of AUST . Me and some other guys from our semester, under the supervision of our boss Adnan sir , have been working on this site for the last couple of months or so. The site was ready long before and today we decided to go public, which generally means putting up posters announcing the site. Honestly speaking, this site is not a very huge project. It's a blog which we are using to post articles. But there were quite a lot of work that had to be done in building up the complete site. Let me just try to give a brief summary. The Idea: AUSTronics is the brainchild of Adnan sir. He initially discussed this plan with me and Kanto , and asked us if we were interested. A Few Out of Many

This post is not a very good idea. How can it be? I've decided to mention just a few of my 'friends' here, out of so many. Section A of our batch is like a freak show. Each and every character is unique and has his/her own set of ideas, morals, attitude, pros and cons. So it would be better if I could talk about them all. But instead I'm just going with my short list. For a couple of friends, staying together in the same school, college and university and always in the same section is rarity probably in the whole world. Yet, starting from class four at Udayan School, going through the time at Dhaka City College together and now here at AUST, me and Shuvro have spent 13 friggin years together. Amazed? Even I can't believe it's been that long. But the irony in it is that despite spending such a long time together, me and Shuvro never got to be close friends.
