Cool Air & Cool Bike

Well, this post was long due. Few weeks ago Thanks to Allah my Dad got me an air cooler for my room. It's a split type 1.5 ton unit. It's working real good. And a few days later I got a bicycle! Yeah that's been on my wish list for a long time and finally I got it. The bikes really cool and good looking and Inshallah I'll post a picture soon. So two great additions to my life, Alhamdulillah.

আমাদের হোটেলটা ছিল একেবারে মসজিদে নববীর চত্বর ঘেঁষে। মধ্যরাতের পর যখন পৌঁছলাম, এশার নামাজ তখনও বাকি আমাদের। সবাই খুব দ্রুত ফ্রেশ হয়ে নেমে এলাম। মদিনার ঠান্ডা ঠান্ডা রাতের আবহাওয়ায় এসে দাঁড়ালাম মসজিদের বাইরের সাদা চত্বরে। কতদিন পর আল্লাহ আবার নিয়ে এলেন। ১৫ বছর আগে, তখন আমি ক্লাস টেনে পড়ি, বাবা মা সাথে করে নিয়ে এসেছিলেন আমাদের ৩ ভাই বোনকে। সেই দিনগুলোর কথা ভাবলেই খুব মনে পড়তো এই শুভ্র, শান্তিময় খোলা চত্বরটার কথা। আবারও বাবা মায়ের হাত ধরেই এলাম এবার। আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। এই নিয়ামত আল্লাহ আরও অনেক অনেক বাড়িয়ে দিন। আমিন। আমাদের ছোট জামাতটার ইমাম হয়ে নামাজ পড়ালাম। হুজুর হুজুর দেখতে হওয়ার কারণে, আর কয়েক পারা মুখস্ত থাকায় প্রায়ই বিভিন্ন জায়গায় নামাজ পড়াতে হয়। এমনকি ঢাকার এক মসজিদেও একবার ফজরের নামাজ পড়ানোর তৌফিক হয়েছিল, কোনো এক ৩ দিনের জামাতে থাকার সময়! কিন্তু এবারের এই নামাজ পড়ানোটাই আমার কাছে সবচেয়ে স্পেশাল ছিল, কারণ এবার দাঁড়িয়ে আছি মসজিদে নবনীর দেয়াল ঘেঁষে! তবে খুশির সাথে ভয়টাই বেশি ছিল সেই সময়। দাঁড়িয়ে আছি কোথায়! এই জায়গায় নামাজ পড়ানো কি, নামাজ পড়তেই তো বুক কাঁপার কথা আমার মতো মানুষের। ম

The Sundarbans 2009 - Part 4: The Prolonged Ending

The last day on our trip to The Sundarbans started on an island called Dublar Char . This is a place famed for its shutki , a kind of dried fish preparation popular in Bangladesh. Right after daybreak we got out on the land to check out the place. This area is occupied for a certain period of the year by fishermen who catch fish and dry them up to produce the shutki. So almost all the people who live here are seasonal fishermen. Now in our family, we never were fans of shutki, mostly because of its awful stench. I remember back when we were in Elephant Road, our next door neighbors used to cook shutki every now and then, and we all started running this way and that, hurrying to close all the windows. So for a guy like me, this shutki island is not the place to be. Sylhet 2009 (Day 3): The Other Side of the Fence

Monday morning we started later than we wanted to. We were actually pretty damn tired from the extended amount of walking on the previous day. We checked out of the hotel and kept our baggage at Nahiyan's place, and took a public transport known as tempo here in our country, towards Jaflong. On our way to Jaflong we feasted our eyes with the sight of the huge mountains that are visible across the border, over in India. Well, "the mountains are always higher on the other side of the fence", hehe. The shear magnitude of the mountain range clicked the inquisitive part of my mind, it made me wonder, what secrets lay hidden in those deep valleys covered with trees. There must be places within those mountains and forests that no one has ever set foot upon. Truly Allah's creation is way wider than our thoughts can be.
